Christmas in the CNMI

I'm spending Christmas in the tropics this year! I've had to adjust a bit to get into the spirit of Christmas considering its so warm out here. There are things that I miss back home around this season: Family, Friends, The cold weather, the shopping sprees, and starbucks pumpkin spice latte=) There are christmas lights up all over the island. I didn't start feeling the Christmas season until I came across these Christmas trees. Every ornament on the christmas tree is made out of recycled materials by kids from both private and public schools. They have entered a contest for the best decorated recycled tree!=) It was amazing! I was really surprised how great they turned out because i thought they were going to look trashy. But the kids did amazing things with old can's and plastics. My favorite ornament was the diet coke cans turned into a flower. Brilliant.=) This contest is an endless effort to beautify the CNMI. Just wanted to share these pics with you by Angelo (thanks angelo!). Hope you like em!

Well, if you are not too busy, we have a general meeting next Thursday at 10 and then on the same day at 7:30 PM we will be meeting at Cafe on the Park to discuss our plans for the Micronesian Challenge. I hope you can make it to the night meeting, and if you can get out of work, the daytime meeting.

I'd love to get your church involved. So far only the Mormons have committed to take on projects and volunteer. I'm excited that you want to help out!
