Java Nights

I've been to the airport alot this past week saying goodbye to my friends that are leaving for the states. Layla and Missy were the last ones to leave on Sunday. They made my transition to Saipan easier for me and I'll miss them. I knew I would be sad to see them go, but I didn't think I would be this sad. It is true that being the one left behind is harder than the one who is leaving.

Thankfully Ej called and wanted to hang out to cheer me up. We met up at Java Joes tonight and just chatted about the past month since I've been gone. We are planning a trip to Australia in January! It was good to see you EJ and I hope our plans work out!

While we were at Java Joes we ran into our friend, Greg. Just wanted to welcome Greg to the blogasphere! He's a scuba diver as well so check out his blog From My Rock In The Tropical Sun for upcoming pics =)

Laundry-The Never Ending Battle

Eeek! I have become that which I despise . . . lazy! I've been really busy and every time I come home i see it! A pile of laundry that sits in the corner of my room waiting to be done. (sigh) It is the never ending battle. I haven't done laundry for 2 weeks! Yes, two weeks. I'm starting to run out of well you know . . . unmentionables. Heh! I have to admit that I hate doing laundry. So today I decided to do something different. Laundry drop off! The best service ever! My coworker, Olive, told me about the laundry drop off service over by Java Joes Coffee shop. Its $3 a load. They wash, dry, and oh so neatly fold your clothes for you! I actually spend the same amount of money dropping off vs. doing it myself. I'm having my laundry done as I blog and I get to have coffee! Life is great;)

We Love Saipan!

My best friend since the second grade, Rae, drove me to LAX airport and walked me to my departure gate. With my passport in hand, I turned around and began to say my goodbyes. I couldn't even speak at first. I get a little teary eyed even thinking about that moment because I knew that my life would change. Though I knew God was leading me to somewhere that He could grow me, I was a little anxious about being away from everyone I knew and loved. In the midst of the busy airport terminal with passengers scurrying from left to right, Rae and I prayed together. I'll never forget that moment. I was ready for the next phase in my life.

Moving to Saipan was the best decision I have ever made. I've been on island for almost five months! Its really hard for me to believe how fast time has flown by. Whenever I'm driving down beach road on a crystal clear day, diving in paradise, or watching a beautiful sunset I still have to pinch myself because I can't believe I'm here! During my stay here I have had so many great adventures and have met so many wonderful people.

I have made some new friends online and we all have one thing in common: We Love Saipan! We want everyone to know that Saipan is an amazing place to visit and live. As we live and work in Saipan we blog about our daily lives, struggles, views on politics, and adventures. Tonight I finally met some of the people that I have been interacting with online. It was nice to finally put a face to a name. Tonight gave us a chance to get to know each other better as well as help each other out with tips for blogging better. For someone like me who is computer challenged, I needed all the help that I could get. Here's to new friends and coffee!
