A New Life

Being active in Church and seeing how much work is put into the ministry by the Pastor, Elders, and the church members is ubelievable. Seriously, sometimes I feel like I have alot on my plate but when i see the sacrifices others make for the work of the church . . . well, its inspiring. We have different departments in the church all reaching out to different parts of the community. At church during our family time we share with each other what is going on in various departments. Head elder, Eric, has been giving bible studies for the men in prison every Tuesday nights. He shared with us that six of them have given their lives to Christ and have decided to be babtized. Usually I hear of only one or two at a time, but six! Well, thats just amazing.
This past Saturday a church member rededicated his life to Christ after being away from the church for a long time. He spoke in front of church about his struggles and his desire to come back to God. I can relate to how he felt. Its called backsliding. Your intentions are good but there is no follow through. Without a true conversion in the heart nothing will change. It was just incredible to see how God changed his heart and seeing him start his new life.
Saturday night the Women's Ministry gave a baby shower to three mothers: Sue, Ethel, and Renea. We had dinner, played a couple of games, and just enjoyed the fellowship.

I can't explain how amazing it feels to be part of a church family that is active and willing to give up a couple of hours of their Sunday to volunteer. I really feel blessed with the church's support and enthusiasm to work together with the rest of the community to help better Saipan. The Women's Ministry led out in two events this weekend. We had a clothing drive for the typhoon victims for the Philippines. The clothes were sorted out this weekend and will be shipped this month. On Sunday, the SDA Church, School, and Dental Clinic joined Beautify CNMI for a roadside cleanup of the Garapan Tourist District. Over 30 of us helped out! We plan to help out the first Sunday of every month.

Britni was picking up cigarette buds along the gutter and didn't realize some idiot had just tossed a fresh burning one out his car window . . . she picked it up and it burned her glove=( But don't worry, she's okay. Humm, disgusting finds today: a dead rat. It was a beautiful sunny day and some of the jams I was listening on my nano ipod while picking up trash: Stir it up (Bob Marley), In a little while (U2), Dynamite (Jamiroquai) . . . Thank you everyone for showing up! You know I love you, right?! =)

Ok, this is my last post of the night and I'm going to bed. This morning I was suppose to go running with some friends at seven but I ended up waking up late=( Anyways, I decided to be productive and helped with a roadside cleanup with Beautify CNMI. I blogged earlier that Women's Ministry will lead out the SDA Church on monthly beach and roadside cleanups with Team BC. Anywho, today we cleaned up the intersection of Aiport Road and Tun Kioshi Road. Disgusting finds today-three poopy diapers. Great job Team BC.
