Conversation with a local while standing in line at the grocery store Joeten's:
Local: So you said you’re a missionary?
Me: Yes.
Local: So does that mean you don’t date?
Me: I’m trying to focus on my mission out here.
Local: So you’re a nun?
Me: (Laughs) No! I’m a missionary!
Local: But are you dating out here?
Me: No.
Local: So you’re a nun!
Me: I’m a Missionary not a nun!
Local: (Laughs)
heh! :P~
Gasp! Is the world going to find out about your secret crush on Captain Carl?
ReplyDeleteha ha look at you spreading rumors! :P
ReplyDeleteSometimes around here it's easy to feel like a nun, even if you're not a missionary! I admire you very much, Bev, to be able to strike up conversations about your faith. That has always been very intimidating for me to share my faith to total strangers.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i've heard theres some slim pickings out here in saipan. I've heard the dating scene isn't all that great . . . but ya never know!!! As for sharing my faith, it can be very challenging. I just love to listen to people talk and talk and talk . . . and then I just pray that the holy spirit leads the conversation=)
ReplyDeleteSlim pickings? Um, hello, Captain Carl is singel!?!
ReplyDeleteok mister matchmaker!
ReplyDeleteThe convent didn't accept me. I doubt they'll accept you! =P Love you......Manang J
